# How to Download an Offline Chart Pack

Going off the grid? No problem. With Savvy Navvy’s offline packs, you can access essential charts, weather and tidal data even when you’re out of range ensure you can plot routes, recalculate routes and explore the area without cell coverage.

###### 1 - Open the App

Launch the **Savvy Navvy** app on your iOS or Android device.


###### 2 - Go to Offline Charts

* Tap the **menu icon (☰)** in the top-left corner.
* Select **Offline Charts** from the menu


###### 3 - Download a new chart pack

When you download a new chart pack, app will fetch your selected charts, weather forecasts and tidal data for offline use.

* Tap **Download** a new chart pack
* A window will appear on the chart. Pinch and scroll to **cover the area** you want to save.
* **Select weather duration**. Use the toggle to choose how many days of weather data you want to download (1–4 days). This will include forecasts for wind, rain, and more, so you can plan ahead.
* Tap **Download**. The app will fetch your selected charts, weather forecasts and tidal data for offline use.


###### 4 - Managing your chart packs

Once your download is complete, your offline chart pack will appear in the list. Check the **last update time** to ensure your data is current.

Tap the **three dots** next to any chart pack to:

* **Rename** the file for easier reference
* **Update** it when you’re back online
* **Delete** it to free up space


###### 5 - Customize your Offline Charts settings

Stay in control of your downloads with automatic updates and network preferences.

Tap the **settings icon** (top right corner of the Offline Charts screen) to open the **Offline Charts Settings** menu.

Toggle **Auto-update offline charts** to ON if you’d like savvy navvy to update your saved chart packs automatically each time you open the app.

Choose how updates are downloaded:
* **Over Wi-Fi only** (recommended to save data)
* **Over Wi-Fi or a cellular network** (useful when you’re away from a marina)

This helps ensure your offline packs are always up to date with the latest charts and weather, without needing to manage them manually.


###### 6 - Using Offline Charts

With the downloaded chart pack, you can navigate confidently even without an internet connection.

* Savvy Navvy's features (waypoints, routes, anchorages, etc.) will continue to work seamlessly.
