How to Use GPS in Savvy Navvy (and What to Do If It’s Not Working)
Good news! GPS location tracking is available on all Savvy Navvy plans. Want to explore more features? Learn more about Savvy Plan Pricing here.
Savvy Navvy uses your device’s GPS to show your real-time location with a green arrow on the chart — just like Google Maps — so you can always see where you are on the water.
📍 How to Centre the Map on Your Location
- Tap the black circle icon (on the right-hand side of the screen).
- The view will centre on your current GPS location and the icon will disappear.
- The black circle icon will disappear while your position stays centred.
💡 Tip: If you want to start recording your movement, tap Start after centring the map. This begins Nav Mode, which records your track for later review.
❗ If GPS Isn’t Working or the Map Doesn’t Centre
If tapping the icon doesn’t do anything, your device’s location permissions may be disabled, preventing Savvy Navvy from accessing your location.
On iOS
- Go to Settings
- Tap Privacy & Security > Location Services
- Select Savvy Navvy
- Set Allow Location Access to While Using the App
On Android
- Long press the Savvy Navvy app icon and tap App info (or go to Settings > Apps & Notifications)
- Tap Permissions > Location
- Set access to Allow only while using the app
💡 Tip: Location services must be enabled at the device level — adjusting settings in the app won’t be enough on its own.
