Chart Details

Wind

The Wind overlay provides a visual and animated display of current and forecasted wind conditions.

  • Color-Coded Strength – Colors range from light blue (light winds) to bright pink (strong winds) for quick visual assessment.
  • Animated Gusts – Movement in the overlay shows wind direction and gust patterns in real time.
  • Forecast Timeline – Scroll right to see hour-by-hour wind forecasts for the coming days.
  • High-Quality Data – Sourced from Meteomatics, the global leader in weather intelligence, combining ECMWF with more than 25 other weather models for highly accurate predictions.

Tidal Streams

The Tidal Streams overlay helps you understand tidal currents so you can plan routes that work with — not against — the flow.

  • Dynamic Arrows – Arrows change direction, size, and boldness to show tidal flow direction and strength.
  • Forecast Timeline – Scroll forward in time to see how tidal patterns will change hour by hour.
  • Trusted Data Sources – Sourced from World Tides and Copernicus (European Space Station) with over 2,000 tidal stations from the Admiralty and UKHO, especially across the UK.

Internet AIS

Internet AIS provides a real-time view of vessel traffic in your vicinity, even if your boat doesn’t have AIS equipment installed.

  • Live Vessel Positions – See vessels broadcasting their position via AIS data feeds.
  • Tap for Details – Select a vessel to view speed, course, type, and last update time.
  • Positional Variance Zone – Each vessel includes a small “variance area” to account for differences in update intervals.
  • Range Based on Plan – Elite plan users see vessels up to 50nm away from their chart view; other plans have a smaller range.
  • Safety Awareness – Especially useful in busy waters or low-visibility conditions.

Clouds & Precipitation

This weather overlay adds an extra layer of environmental awareness, showing forecasted weather patterns over your route.

  • Transparent Overlay – Displays cloud cover and precipitation while keeping chart details visible.
  • Forecast Timeline – Scroll right to view hour-by-hour weather changes in advance.
  • High-Quality Data – Sourced from Meteomatics, combining ECMWF with more than 25 other weather models for accurate global forecasts.
  • Precipitation Types – See rain, snow, and storm activity patterns.
