How to Show Your Current GPS Position
Savvy Navvy uses your device’s GPS to display your real-time position on the chart, so you can always see exactly where you are on the water. Your location is shown with a green arrow, just like Google Maps, and updates automatically as you move.
Centre the Map on Your Current Position
- Tap the black circle icon on the right-hand side of the screen.
- The view will automatically centre on your current GPS location.
- The black circle icon will disappear while your position stays centred.
💡 Tip: If you want to start recording your movement, tap Start after centring the map. This begins Nav Mode, which records your track for later review.
If GPS Isn’t Showing Your Position
If tapping the black circle doesn’t centre the map, location permissions for Savvy Navvy might be turned off on your device.
On iOS:
- Go to Settings.
- Tap Privacy & Security > Location Services.
- Select Savvy Navvy.
- Set Allow Location Access to While Using the App.
On Android:
- Long press the Savvy Navvy app icon and tap App info (or go to Settings > Apps & Notifications).
- Tap Permissions > Location.
- Set access to Allow only while using the app.
⚠️ Note: Location services must be turned on at the device level — changing settings inside Savvy Navvy alone won’t work.
