Does savvy navvy take into account marker buoys like cardinals?

For areas where we have secured the licenses with various hydrographic offices, you will be able to see marker buoys such as cardinals and channel markers on the chart via the web app. If we do not yet cover the area you are looking at, there won't be any buoys or depth contours and the water will just be white.

We are constantly working with hydrographic offices to add more charts to our data set. As and when we do our chart coverage map will be updated and you will be able to see the depth contours and buoys etc. show up in the web app.

At the moment savvy navvy's algorithm focuses on keeping you safe and getting you to your destination in the best possible way. We do this by avoiding areas that are too shallow for your boat and choosing routes that are best suited for the wind conditions. 

We do not yet direct you around navigational markers and so, for now at least, you will need to use your sailing knowledge to ensure you adhere to marker buoy instructions. We will be working on adding this as a feature in the future, please follow us on our website and socials for the latest updates.
