Managing Your Live Sharing Session
Once you've started a Live Location Sharing session, you can manage it at any time. Invite more people to join, temporarily stop sharing your location, or end the session completely when your journey is finished.
Live Location Sharing gives you full control over your privacy while making it easy to stay connected with friends, family, and fellow boaters.
What Can You Do in a Live Sharing Session?
While a session is active, you can:
- Invite additional people to view your location
- Pause sharing temporarily without ending the session
- Resume sharing whenever you're ready
- Leave the session and stop sharing completely
How to Open Your Live Session Controls
To manage an active session:
- Tap the green location icon in the top-left corner of the chart.
- The Your Live Session window will open.
From here, you can manage all aspects of your sharing session.
Invite More People
You can invite additional people to follow your location at any time.
- Open the Your Live Session window.
- Tap the Share icon next to the invitation link under Invite More People.
- Choose how you'd like to send the invitation link, such as:
- Text message
- Any other sharing option available on your device
Recipients can immediately view your location when they open the link in Savvy Navvy.
Pause Location Sharing
If you'd like to temporarily stop broadcasting your location:
- Open the Your Live Session window.
- Tap Pause Sharing.
Your status will change to Paused, and other participants will no longer see updates to your location.
The session remains active, allowing you to resume sharing later without creating a new invitation link.
Resume Location Sharing
To begin sharing your location again:
- Open the Your Live Session window.
- Tap Resume Sharing.
Your live position will immediately become visible to session participants again.
End Your Session
When you're finished sharing your location:
- Open the Your Live Session window.
- Tap Leave Session.
Leaving the session permanently ends it and stops all location sharing.
Anyone using the session link will no longer be able to view your live position.
